REPORT OF
ACTIVITIES
Bhonsala Sainik School, Nagpur organized
a range of activities aimed at fostering various traits in Ramdandees. The
students engaged enthusiastically in all the activities, which took place from
July 4, 2024 till date. The Curricular activities help to improve the talents
of the young minds and give them an opportunity to develop their specialized
skills. Competitions that are organized can create a competitive environment
and helps them work towards the objective of achieving a better society.
Whereas, the Co-curricular activities are part of the national curriculum
designed by the Ministry of Education as a means to enhance social interaction,
leadership, healthy recreation, self-discipline and self-confidence. These
activities are given in the succeeding paragraphs.
ACTIVITIES
UNDER VARIOUS CLUBS
1. Ecology Club - Best Out of Waste. The series of activities kick-started on
1st July 2024 under the guidance of Mrs. Payal Khandelwal. The students
embarked on a creative journey where they transformed old newspapers into
beautiful and functional items like caps and paper bags. This hands-on activity
encouraged students to think beyond conventional uses of waste materials and
highlighted the importance of recycling. The students not only enjoyed the
activity but also learned valuable lessons about sustainability and
environmental responsibility.
Learning Outcome: Students developed an understanding of
reusing materials and creatively contributing to eco-friendly practices, while
boosting their innovation and crafting skills.
2. Heritage Club. Mrs. Harshala Rajgire introduced the
students to the temple deity of the school, exploring its significance, and
delved into the rich cultural history of Nagpur city. The interactive session
allowed students to appreciate the blend of religion, history, and culture that
defines their local surroundings. This activity served as a valuable
opportunity to connect the young cadets to their roots and foster pride in
their regional heritage.
Learning Outcome: Students gained a
deeper appreciation of cultural heritage, learned to value local traditions,
and developed respect for historical and spiritual landmarks.
3. Health & Wellness Club – Growing
Up Healthy. Through an
engaging NCERT module and a series of interactive videos, students explored the
fundamental aspects of leading a healthy life. A fun game and activity
followed, where they learned the do's and don'ts for staying healthy. Special
emphasis was placed on understanding the physical and emotional changes during
adolescence, making it a crucial learning experience for young minds on the
brink of change.
Learning Outcome: Students gained essential knowledge
about good habits, personal hygiene, and the developmental changes during
adolescence, equipping them with life skills for healthy living.
ENHANCING CREATIVITY
4. ‘Tie-n-Dye’ and ‘Tissue Flower Making’.
Students were
introduced to the creative world of tie-and-dye, learning techniques to create
vibrant patterns on fabric. Additionally, they crafted delicate tissue flowers,
applying artistic skills under expert guidance. This dual activity blended traditional
craftsmanship with modern creative expression, encouraging students to explore
art in various forms. The end results—colorful dyed fabrics and beautiful paper
flowers—were a testament to their growing artistry.
Learning Outcome: Students enhanced their artistic
skills, improved their dexterity, and experienced the satisfaction of creating
unique, hand-made items.
5. Slogan Writing & Map Making. To celebrate the spirit of patriotism
ahead of Independence Day, students enthusiastically participated in creating
impactful slogans and maps related to India’s heritage. The slogans, written
with passion and decorated with vibrant colors, reflected their deep-rooted
love for the nation. This creative exercise not only allowed students to
express their thoughts about India’s freedom but also provided a platform for
them to improve their writing, design, and map-reading skills.
Learning Outcome: Students improved their artistic and
linguistic abilities while developing a sense of national pride and respect for
India’s heritage and symbols.
6. Key Chain Making Using Scooby Wire. Students engaged in the delightful
craft of creating keychains from Scooby wire under the guidance of Mrs. Swapna
Nair. This activity not only tapped into their creative potential but also
helped them develop patience and focus, as they carefully knotted wires into
beautiful patterns.
Learning Outcome: Students enhanced their fine motor
skills, creativity, and ability to follow intricate processes while enjoying
the satisfaction of creating their own keychains.
7. Book Reading Competition. The library buzzed with excitement as
students chose books in English, Hindi, or Marathi for the Book Reading
Competition. Each participant was encouraged to express their understanding of
the chosen book and their passion for reading. The competition stimulated a
love for reading while enhancing language skills, confidence, and public
speaking abilities.
Learning Outcome: Students honed their reading,
comprehension, and communication skills while developing a deeper appreciation
for literature across languages.

8. Poem Recitation Competition. A Poem Recitation Competition was held
for both Class VI Active and VI Alert, where students showcased their literary
talents by reciting poems in English, Hindi, or Marathi. The competition
allowed students to express their creativity, emotion, and interpretation of
different poetic themes. With enthusiastic participation, the event highlighted
the beauty of language and oration, as students delivered their chosen poems
with confidence and flair.
Learning Outcome: Students developed their public
speaking skills, enhanced their fluency and expression in multiple languages,
and gained confidence in performing in front of an audience.

CELEBRATIONS
9. Har Ghar Tiranga Celebration. Patriotic fervor filled the air as
students expressed their love for India through chants and slogans. The
celebration of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ symbolized unity and pride in the national
flag and ignited the flame of patriotism in the hearts of all present. The
activity allowed students to connect emotionally with the idea of freedom and
national pride.
Learning Outcome: Students deepened their respect for
national symbols, learning the significance of the Tricolour while fostering a
sense of patriotism.
TOWARDS BETTER COHABITATION
10. Yoga Session. Led by Vikas Hatwar Sir, this
invigorating yoga session combined the power of Surya Namaskar with peaceful
meditation, fostering both physical health and mental calmness. As part of the
school’s holistic education, the students regularly participate in such
sessions that promote overall wellness. The morning yoga energized students and
encouraged them to incorporate physical activity and mindfulness into their
daily routine, reinforcing the motto "a healthy body resides in a healthy
mind."
Learning Outcome: The session improved students'
concentration, flexibility, and mental clarity while fostering a lifelong habit
of physical fitness and well-being.
11. Workshop on ‘Good Touch and Bad
Touch’. A highly
informative workshop led by Dr. Smita Mohta and Dr. Rajeev Mohta, focused on
educating students about personal safety, boundaries, and how to differentiate
between appropriate and inappropriate touch. The workshop provided a safe space
for open discussions, helping students understand how to protect themselves and
navigate tricky situations, especially during adolescence.
Learning Outcome: Students became more aware of personal
safety, boundaries, and how to take action when faced with uncomfortable
situations, empowering them with critical life skills.
12. Hostel Inspection (Tanaji Bhavan). As part of maintaining a healthy
environment, regular inspections of the hostel were conducted by Principal Dr.
J. S. Riar. Focused on personal hygiene and cleanliness, this inspection
ensured that cadets maintained high standards of discipline and hygiene in
their daily lives. This activity fosters responsibility among cadets in
managing their living spaces.
Learning Outcome: Students learned the importance of
personal hygiene and cleanliness, and developed self-discipline and
responsibility in maintaining their living environments.
13. ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Drive. In a drive to raise awareness about
environmental conservation, students enthusiastically participated in planting
50 saplings around the school premises. This initiative instilled in them a
sense of responsibility towards nature, teaching them the value of every tree
and its role in sustaining life.
Learning Outcome: Students learned the importance of
environmental conservation and sustainability, developing a sense of
responsibility towards nature.
14. Motivational Session – “Dictating
Success” by Dr. J.S. Riar. In
this insightful and inspiring motivational session, Dr. J.S. Riar captivated
the students of Class VI Active and Alert with his talk titled “Dictating
Success.” Dr. Riar emphasized the importance of hard work, persistence, and a
positive mindset as the key ingredients to achieving success. The session was
filled with real-life examples and strategies to help students unlock their
potential and set meaningful goals for the future.
Learning Outcome: Students were motivated to set personal
goals, understand the importance of effort in achieving success, and learned
the value of a positive attitude and perseverance in life.
VISITS
15. Metro Ride from Kasturchand Park to
Khapri. The students
experienced an exciting metro ride from Kasturchand Park to Khapri, offering
them a unique perspective of their city. As the metro glided through the heart
of Nagpur, they observed key landmarks and learned about the city’s growing
infrastructure. This educational ride was not only a fun field trip but also an
opportunity to familiarize the students with the public transportation system
and the significance of urban development.
Learning Outcome: Students developed an understanding of
city infrastructure, improved their knowledge of significant landmarks, and
learned to navigate the metro system, broadening their perspective on urban
living.
SWACHHATA HI SEVA CAMPAIGN
16. Cleanliness Target Unit (CTU). As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva
Campaign, the cadets took up the responsibility of cleaning the premises of a
Hanuman Temple in ChakkiKhapa Village. Under the guidance of their teachers and
warden, they diligently worked to clean the temple grounds, promoting
cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces. This community service project
encouraged students to contribute to societal well-being by taking small yet
impactful actions to maintain the environment.
Learning Outcome: Students learned the value of public
cleanliness, community service, and teamwork, while developing a sense of
responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness in shared spaces.
17. Handwash Activity. To promote self-hygiene, an educational
Handwash Activity was conducted for the students of Class VI Alert. The
activity demonstrated the correct techniques for washing hands, emphasizing the
importance of personal hygiene to prevent illness. This hands-on session,
conducted as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, was interactive and fun,
ensuring students retained the information and applied it in their daily lives.
Learning Outcome: Students gained practical knowledge of
proper hand hygiene techniques, understood the importance of cleanliness in
personal health, and developed habits for maintaining good hygiene.
